Pula - Cagliari

26 mai 2023, kilomètres aujourd’hui : 64
Kilomètres depuis le début : 1802

I had hesitated to take this route, which is not recommended because you have to pass through the industrial area of Cagliari. It was Marta, my Warmshower host from the beginning of my stay in Sardinia, who advised me to do the previous stage as far as Pula [1], and it was worth it !

The route suggested by Komoot meant that I didn’t have to enter Cagliari via the port area and that I had to make a big diversions to the north, so the 35km turned into 65 ^^.

But you still have to pass through Sarroch and the area that follows, a sort of miniature Fos sur Mer. Then the road is often quieter, but as I’m there between noon and two a lot of people are on the road.

I try to grab a bite to eat in Assemini, but the places I ask for either don’t have anything or are only fixing for the evening... I end up in a large, trendy café offering sncf sandwiches for the price of sncf sandwiches... I only have one, which doesn’t really feed me, but it does allow me to drink a nice refreshing beer [[by the way Assemini is home to an Ichnusa brewery that I passed... it doesn’t make you want to drink beer !]

Arriving in Cagliari in the early afternoon, I have to wait a bit for my accommodation to become available, so I take the opportunity to eat a real panino with another Ichnusa !
A day’s rest here will allow me to do some washing and I’m off to the east coast again.
