From Finike to Antalya

This time I had breakfast at the hotel. It was quite early, at 7.30am, and I was confident about the stage and the weather. But I still arrived a little early...
An excellent Turkish breakfast, very complete and very good.
About fifteen kilometres of flat before my route suggests a variation. I give it a go and pass through the famous greenhouse forests. Interesting, as the houses are mixed in with these greenhouses, and sometimes you can’t see them because a house has had extensions made of plastic like the greenhouses...
I see something strange, stop to take some photos, a guy offers to come and take photos of the inside, OK. He explains that it’s dragon fruit that’s going to grow there. In fact, the fruits haven’t yet appeared, they’ll come later, pink fruits from what I’ve read while searching.

Then the steady climb begins. A little after the highest point, I avoided a variation suggested by my track, which meant I didn’t have to climb again...
Around midday, I realise that I haven’t really stopped since I set off at quarter past eight. I take a break in a shady spot that serves as a rest area for the small buses that criss-cross Turkey.
Just as I’m about to set off again, I see a couple with two children arrive. At last, some cycle tourists I can talk to ! They ask me "Where are you from", "France...". I didn’t have time to add "Toulouse" before they said "It’ll be easier" ! So these French people from Rennes with children aged between 9 and 11 have managed to leave from 12 April to mid-August ! Well done ! We chat for a while. Then everyone heads off in their own direction.

They had warned me that the towns on the coast as far as Antalya were of no interest... I avoid the first one, but at a time when it seems interesting to stop driving on the main road... I confirm. These "resorts" all along the road are pretty ugly...
Several tunnels, and there’s a button at the entrance that cyclists can press to make the "cyclists in tunnel" sign flash.
As you approach Antalya, the national road becomes a real pain, with the side strip narrowing so much that sometimes you have to ride on the road like the cars and lorries.
I’m happy to take the first exit, which will take me along the cycle path that runs alongside Antalya and back to my hotel.

A two-day break and a visit here !
