Two days of visit in Marseille guided by Manu who will make me discover the life of the center. A very lively city whose center has not yet been gentrified. I really discovered this beautiful city where I had come only once before.
Sunday morning departure for Toulon after a few drops of rain. I have to go through the Gineste pass and finally it goes well enough. So I decided to take the road of the crests which seemed to me too hard, but it will surely be nicer than the national road. And indeed it’s hard : my counter goes up quickly to 13%, then there is a respite, almost flat and at the attack of the last 500 m the counter goes quickly to 13%, then 15 and it remains at 16%... I put my foot down for the last few meters. But what a reward afterwards, a treat for the eyes.
I buy a sandwich in La Ciotat, the lady doesn’t want to fill my water bottle because the boss is there and he won’t agree. I eat my sandwich a little further on a very nice little place in Saint Cyr sur Mer, and I fill my water bottle at the café.
I arrive in Toulon at my hosts warmshowers who leave for the beach. I accompany them and take my first swim of the year !
