Santa Teresa Gallura - Porto Vecchio

Yesterday was my last day in Sardinia. Rain was still forecast for the afternoon so I hurried off to do what I wanted to do in the morning : go to Capo Testa and take one last dip in Sardinia 🙂

Capo Testa has some pretty little beaches, an imposing lighthouse and the old one it replaced next to it... but above all the "Valley of the Moon" to the west of Capo Testa, a place where the granite modelled by the elements gives very tortured or liquid shapes depending on the place. In the 70s, hippies came here to commune with nature. Nowadays there are still quite a number of people who come to live in huts in this area, at least in the summer (from April to September, according to the guy I spoke to).

Then the beach : still a bit cool but very clear and you can swim in the middle of the fish ! In fact, a little later a cormorant came to have its lunch.

This morning the ferry at 9am was less crowded than on the outward journey, and the boarding seemed cooler on the Sardinian side than on the French.
Then a fairly short drive, which I lengthened a bit by trying to drive along the coast, but most of the time you can’t see anything from the road.

Arrival in Porto-Vecchio, where my accommodation is already available 🙂
