The objective of the day was to find a bike repairer, and for that I had to go to Sassari, the only place in the region where there is one. So it will be another short stage.
I leave Castelsardo, pass over the modern and quite important harbour, but where there are only a few fishing boats the rest being pleasure boats.
The weather is mixed, a bit windy and sometimes grey and I even catch a few drops of rain, but no need to put on the rain gear, it doesn’t last.
I arrive at the first bike shop I had noticed in Sassari and luckily the guy can take my bike right away.
He takes care of the bike for almost an hour : he changes the spoke, true the wheel ; as I told him I had broken the chain he looks at it and tells me it’s too long, he removes two links, notices that the derailleur is bent and straightens the axle that holds it, the stand makes some noise, he sprays it with WD40, he adjusts the chainring derailleur, and then the brakes that I hadn’t tightened since my departure... In short, I feel like I’m leaving with a new bike.

If I had known that the repair would be done so quickly I might have tried to go to Alghero in the meantime, but in the end it’s not so bad, I’m visiting Sassari and I like this city with its winding streets that often lead to small quiet squares....
