Early start this morning,
I had several concerns about the route : its length with a rather steep slope impossible to avoid, the Portugalete bridge which is in fact a "ferry bridge", there was also a ferry to take to finish the trip...
But in the end, on a sunny day, everything went very well !
With a little more detail :
- Arriving at the ferry bridge (Puente de Byskaya) I ask a lady when is the next one : "a cado poco", all the time roughly, and indeed 10mn later I am on the other side
- I didn’t know exactly where the slope was anymore and it was a cyclist who stayed to chat who warned me, "after this turn". The good thing is that at the top such a steep and long slope would take me to Castro Urdiales
- After a nourishing break in Laredo I pushed the pedals and arrived in Pedreña before the 4:05 pm ferry departure...
Maintenance (continued) : in the series of oversights I bought mosquito repellent and small plasters, things I have plenty of at home !
