Viaduc de Garabit then Cezens - Brioude

29 June 2021, kilometres today: 75
Kilometres since the start: 1530

Yesterday I visited the Garabit viaduct with Philippe. A superb structure repainted a few years ago. Amazing shapes.
This morning I left not so early... caught up in the discussions it was after 9am when I left.
The weather is threatening and after Saint-Flour I have my first real shower! At this moment I am on paths not in very good condition with gravel that does not fill all the unevenness of the ground. It is difficult to move forward so I abandon the route traced the day before and I follow "yellow" roads (departmental). It’s much better!
Lunch break in the shelter of a village hall.
I arrive early in Brioude. I have to wait until 7:30 pm to join my accommodation warmshower of the day, so I have time to visit and the city is very interesting. The Saint-Julien basilica is very beautiful and amazing. Very beautiful stones in red tones. Inside, modern and colourful stained glass windows. The floor is very beautiful.
