This morning I wanted to go to the left bank of the Danube, an itinerary that was possible in principle and the track I had seen the day before seemed magnificent.

So I had to take the ferry again. I’m starting to get a taste for it ^^
By taking the ticket I signal to the cashier "one person with my bike". She doesn’t understand and only gives me a pedestrian ticket... Of course the guy who controls the tickets thinks I’m a scammer and I have to go complete the ticket. To the word "Bicycle" she understands :/ ... Meanwhile the ferryboat has left....

Finally I can take the next rotation. The controller seems to be wondering what I planned to do as a scam this time. There is not, satisfied he says OK. grrr.... I’ve been waiting half an hour for nothing, and there was no cafe open.

The track looks as good as expected. But when I arrived at the border, my beautiful straight line flew away... A policeman tells me that I have to turn left towards Hoduna. I don’t understand why, but I understand that my journey has just lengthened all at once (by about 22km). I imagined reminiscences of the Serbo-Croat war but after searching the internet it seems that it is Hungary that is blocking its border to prevent the flow of migrants. I was lucky to pass!

Here in southern Hungary the plots are smaller and we still see many carts pulled by mules.

So I cross two borders: Hungary-Serbia, then Serbia-Croatia. With real controls, the first I’ve had since I left. But it’s no worse than the controls at Blagnac airport.

The road therefore seems very long: I am 25 km longer than the itinerary initially planned.... I arrive at my accommodation around 6pm. Fortunately, I have a little something to eat.... no way to move again!
