A quiet stage today when I went back to Serbia. This time I’m going to stay there for a while since it’s a big piece of the Danube.
And since this article will be used for the bi-weekly newsletter, a few words to remind you that between two newsletters a lot of things are happening :)
Since the last one there have been 8 steps, so eight articles.
And from the beginning:
- 26 articles published
- As many English translations
- More than 450 photos uploaded online
On the Croatian side of the Danube, the road is on a plateau and the villages are in hollows which ensures some gradients.
The first descent is 8% followed by an equal ascent. And the last one is at 10%, but in my way it’s only a descent!!
One of the goals today was to get a Serbian SIM card to have mobile data and be able to call from Serbia. In Bakha Palanka I did not find the operator whose package I had spotted (but who finally after having made the conversion is very expensive). In short what I found is a prepaid card but with which I still have to buy units such as... Calling France is quite expensive. It kept me busy for a while this story and when in the afternoon my mother called me I answered; By checking the flow once arrived, for 3min 30’ of communication I paid almost 5€! This story will come back to me dearly! So I will recreate the other possible cards....
Starting from Bakha Palanka I first followed a rather difficult road with trucks and cars, some of which graze you even when there is no car in front (they could scratch their bodywork on the white line!) then I found the Eurovélo again.
Tomorrow day of stroll in Novi Sad.... But the weather does promise rain :(
