By ferry then by train : Split - Ferrara

1 August 2019,

I take the ferry from Split, direction Ancona. I took a bed in a cabin and actually I have the cabin to myself. I don’t necessarily sleep very well: the machines make noise and at night the ferry goes very slowly to arrive in the morning... and the air coming from the ventilation one has the impression that it is the air from the chimney... In any case, it hurts your throat....

Then in Ancona I take a train to Ferrara and pay the small bicycle supplement. Besides, it seems that in Italy ticket sales are being privatized but there is no information on the trains in which bicycles can be put everywhere. But at least they answered me quickly enough to tell me on the website of which company to go!

Ferry plus train it saves me a day with uncertain weather and I will arrive directly in the Po Valley by skipping a few stages initially planned.

At each station bicycles are taken on or off, sometimes much more than the capacity of 4 in the bicycle area.
Bologna arrived at 10:23 am on the anniversary of the attack of August 2, 1980. Part of the station is blocked for commemorations.
